EAS server
Should the EAS have their own Autralian server? Run from a nearly 24/7 pc... it might be possible. Tell me your thoughts.

I control the admin account. Just using it to change forum settings and styles.
I don't know if the server should be similar to the SWBF AUS server. As in a public server, or for Clan members only. Any opinions on that will be welcome.

Re: EAS server
Could be a good thing; If it gets to the stage where there are so many of us that we are just crowding the -AUS- server, I could see it working.
It would also depend on the connection speed; if I get a ping under 100 on the -AUS- server, and any potential EAS server is 150+, guess where I'm going.

My internet is fairly decent, but I may even look at renting one through my Dads work...

I could see what you first said on the first Paragraph could be right with most of EAS on the one AUS Server.AUS_Doug wrote:Could be a good thing; If it gets to the stage where there are so many of us that we are just crowding the -AUS- server, I could see it working.

Re: EAS server
We already have a EAS Server but we should improve it to a Public Server anytime soon running from nearly 24/7.
Maybe this could grow our Great EAS Empire! .

Re: EAS server
I have an old desktop which I could run the server from. I know how to get it to start up and shutdown automatically. This is not a promise, but I am looking into having the server run from the hours of 700 to 2400. Then the pc may rest during the night.
For now, I will consult Mr. Pistol and see if he can organise a server test night one of these upcoming weekends. It will be testing for lag, connectivity issues, and whether or not my remote control manager will work :/
Hopefully we can make this server work, otherwise I will look into other ideas.
The EAS needs a personal server.

Good Idea Comrade! but Leaving your PC on while your Asleep running the Server for you I know you can do it but never know of anyone who would do it unsless all those other Servers do the same thing .Lolasaurus wrote:I have an old desktop which I could run the server from. Re: EAS server
Have you looked at using the Server Manager used on the -AUS- server?
(http://globalwf.com/site/resources.php?r=227&c=22&s=-1 under the 'Black Bag Ops' heading)
It seems to be a pretty robust system and, from a quick read through of the user-manual, doesn't seem to be too complicated.

Never heard of a Server Manager before but a good idea if its good we should use it for our Server .AUS_Doug wrote:Have you looked at using the Server Manager used on the -AUS- server?

Re: EAS server
Well I have been considering plenty of things. It is hard for me to run the server all the time, and I do not believe the ping is low. So I will be investigating other options for a while. I am hoping by the Christmas holidays we will have something going.
Until then, we may still use the current setup for scrims.
